A marketing leader who writes Python scripts decided to build his portfolio from scratch with Next.js and AI. Here's why.
I could have used a template. Or hired someone. Instead, I opened Cursor and started typing.
This site exists because I wanted to build something myself. Not delegate it. Not tweak a theme. Actually build it.
My background is product marketing — Nike, WhatsApp at Meta, Qualcomm. I know how to write a brief and present a strategy deck. But somewhere along the way, I started writing Python scripts too.
It started small. A dashboard that pulled data faster than waiting for the analytics team. A script that automated a report I was tired of making. Each one saved time. Each one felt like solving a puzzle.
Now I build with AI. Tools like Cursor and Claude changed what's possible. I can ship a full site in days, not months. This one is Next.js and TypeScript. I wrote most of it with AI as a collaborator.
That's what this space is for. Not polished case studies. Not thought leadership. Just me thinking out loud about building things. What worked. What didn't. What I'm trying next.
